Since 1979...

Started its activity in 1985

In September 1985, Jaben started its activity in the area of manufacturing bathroom accessories and housewares. Acquired by founding partner José Simões dos Reis, it is a family business that has been passed down from generation to generation over the years. Initially focused on selling its articles on the national market, it quickly expanded to the foreign market, which, after about 3 years, already represented 70% of its turnover.

Opening in Luanda

In 1995, the opening of a store and warehouse in Luanda for the sale of manufactured goods and others related to civil construction, allowed Jaben to increase its export growth and publicity on the foreign market. It would end up closing in 2005, after the onset of the economic crisis in Angola.

Invest in shower cabins

To complete the range of items and increase the offer, a shower cabin factory was acquired in 2003, later merged with Jaben in 2009. In the same year, the company moved its facilities to a new pavilion with about 3500 m2.

Currently, we have about 35 employees with a high level of experience, ensuring excellence in manufacturing quality and service provided to customers.

THE FOUNDER

Entitled “The Clinician of sick companies”, José Simões dos Reis was the founding partner of Jaben.
Birth 06/25/1932; Death 05-07-2015.

At just 21 years old, he set out to discover Angola by investing in his training and working as a commercial agent in the Bairrada area. He stayed in this country for about 25 years, where he married by proxy and later had two children.In August 1975 and faced with a war situation, he returned to Portugal with very little. Faced with economic difficulties and never giving up, he dedicated himself to the purchase and sale of olive oil, a business that served as a lever for the foundation of the company itself, together with other partners. The departure of this company a few years later after incompatibility with one of the partners, led to the purchase of Jaben, which is currently one of the main industries in Europe for bathroom articles and housewares.
